Mark Twain said, “never let the truth get in the way of a good story”
Paint what your painting needs not necessarity what is in front of you.
Think about designing your painting - what are the elements that communicate your story or your message? what are the elelments that will not help?
Be mindful of traps - for example cell phone towers and red cars or dramatic value contrasts that will drag the eye away from your focal area.
Just because it's there doesn't mean you should paint it!!
